Cara Edney – Principal Describer

Aimee

Alan

Bio: A British native, Cara lived overseas for 13 years, but she returned to London and trained as a voice-over artist and actress. Cara discovered AD through voicing programs for Disney Jr and was surprised when she realised that describing her favourite TV shows could be a career. People usually tell you off for talking in the movies!!!

Voice Over Credits: TV Commercials for Activia, Spotify, Always, Desigual, Euro Millions, and Novotel.

AD Credits: A regular writer and VO for Netflix,  Amazon Prime and ITV’s AD service for 6 years. Previous projects include the Great British Baking Show (S11), Shaun the Sheep, White Lines, and Behind Her Eyes. 

Vocal Qualities: Young, Bright and Engaging British RP.

Bio: A west London girl through and through, Aimee is a trained actress and sports masseuse. Over the last 7 years, Aimee has combined her sultry and enticing vocal qualities with her expressive and dynamic writing style, regularly providing audio descriptions for sitcoms and Hollywood films alike. 

AD Experience: Regular contributor for ITV,  Disney, Netflix, HBO, Discovery, and Channel 5 audio description services.

Vocal Qualities: Sultry, Calming, and Playful.

Bio: A Mountview Theatre school graduate, Alan has appeared on stage in the U.K., Europe, and the U.S. and has acted on T.V. and radio in various dramas and comedies. His voice work includes the English language dubs of several Japanese anime films, and cartoons, plus 20 years of experience in audio description. A big fan of classic cinema and vintage horror, Alan’s our go-to man for shoot-em-ups, war epics and car chase movies! 

AD Experience: Skillfully adept at switching from television projects to major cinema releases, Alan regularly writes for Disney, Warner Brothers, and Universal Studios.

Vocal Qualities: Gritty, Strong, and Warm

Ian

Bio: As well as being an audio-describer, Ian has worked as an actor for almost 30 years and has voiced numerous radio dramas and commercials voiceovers in his home region of Yorkshire. A keen language enthusiast, Ian dabbles in French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Greek and writes his own fiction and theatre pieces. 

AD Experience: A regular contributor for the soap operas Emmerdale and Coronation Street on ITV, and has become an expert writer for police procedural shows on Amazon Prime. 

Vocal Qualities: Mature, Thoughtful, and Strong.

Elene

Bio: Proud of her Anglo-Cypriot heritage, Elene has over 8 years of experience within the industry. Her career highlight was being selected to voice the Audio Description for Warner Brothers’ “Lego Movie” series (Lego Movie 1 & 2, Batman and Ninjago). Outside of work,  Elene’s a filmmaker and created a documentary which was nominated for the BBC’s Newsnight’s short award and a theatre producer for “Saw It Here First Productions.” 

AD Credits: Warner Brothers, Netflix, Amazon, Disney, and Studio Canal. Elene has a working knowledge of Greek and French and a good ear for international pronunciation. 

Vocal Qualities: Soothing, Uplifting and Warm.

Lewis

Bio: Originally from Brighton, Lewis moved to London and trained to be an Audio Describer with Deluxe Media. Lewis’s other passion is music and he’s a gifted singer, songwriter, and guitarist.

AD Experience: ITV Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Vera, Family Guy, American Dad, Pokemon Hallmark, Law & Order, Discovery (Tanked, Cake Boss), Nickelodeon (Horrid Henry)  and writer and voice-over artist for Netflix USA feature films, The Berlin Syndrome, and Kill Me Three Times

Vocal Qualities: Narrator, Smooth, and Upbeat.
